Like most people, when asked to tell us about yourself I find my mind goes into a long "Ummm...". So here's my low down. I do not harken from the great state of Texas originally, but instead, a small humble town of 300 in Iowa.
My design journey began after a couple of well timed conversations with my parents and one well loved art professor at the local community college. "You need to stop coasting" was the general sentiment, and all parties thought my artisitc talents were worth my pursuing. Since I spent most of my waking moments with a brush in my hand and paint on my face, the idea wasn't too bad to the ears of a 19 year old kid.
By 1999, I graduated with a degree in communication design from the Milwaukee Institute of art and design. I had already developed the "A Girl Creative" name, so in 2003 when I made the leap from the upper midwest to Texas, one more didn't seem like that big of a deal. Thus began, albeit someone accidentally, my working exclusively with a myriad of clients. From the United Way, to small upstarts, to international software companies, I have and continue to enjoy developing logos, business materials and website designs for my clients and hope to continue to for some time to come.
